Is buying a hybrid car worth the cost?

Though there is an obvious discrepancy in fuel economy, the savings on a Prius come in increased fuel economy. This makes up for the higher price.

Battery replacement.

A relatively true statement about hybrid cars is that its primary operating power source is its battery. Yes, it is true that replacing the battery is a significant cost, but most car brands offer a long warranty on the hybrid battery. Some hybrid vehicles have a battery warranty up to 10 years.

Service / maintenance availability.

Though it is a good idea to have factory trained technicians from car dealerships maintain your vehicle, especially a hybrid model, more independent mechanics have become familiar and confident working on these types of vehicles due to their increased popularity. Some people find allowing independent mechanics to work on or maintain their vehicle concerning, while others are not concerned at all. Some people choose to have independent mechanics repair or maintain their vehicle simply because independent mechanics typically charge less than car dealerships, thus saving money. Whatever your decision, research the facility to make sure you are comfortable with their level of expertise.

Lower costs.

One benefit of hybrid vehicles is they save money overall (though not in the price). They also reduce harmful effects of emissions coming from gasoline or diesel engines. These cars are appealing to some and less so to others.
