SELF-DRIVING CARS IN THE FUTURE?
According to an article on Forbes, by 2020 there shall be more than 10 million self-driving cars on the roads. Technology is changing many aspects of human life making driverless cars a reality. A simple search online will provide the evidence you need regarding self-driving cars. Google and Tesla are just but two of the companies playing a significant role in the evolution of driverless vehicles. These vehicles will change how cars are driven on roads. It’s still not clear if self-driving cars will be available for those seeking to lease though.
Who can buy self-driving cars?
For the most part, self-driving cars will only be available for those people who seek to buy. Nevertheless, you should not hesitate to begin your search for these vehicles. The argument that self-driving cars will make the road safer and produce better drivers provides you with an incentive to consider these vehicles when making your next car purchase. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) incorporated into the cars allows for them to be self-driven.
With the vast number of self-driving vehicles on the verge of joining the roads, it might be tempting to think that traditional types of cars are about to be extinct. That’s not true considering that traditional cars total approximately 1.4 billion around the world. So, if you are looking for a deal but not yet ready for a self-driving car, don’t fret. There are plenty of deals waiting to be had.
Conservative estimates of self-driving cars
It is conservatively estimated ten million self-driving cars will be driving on the roads by 2020. By 2030, a quarter of all cars on the road are projected to be self-driving. Technological advancements are happening at a much faster pace than ever before, for this reason, it’s possible to see more driverless cars on the roads in the next 5-10 years than the number projected. As the trend continues, a few industries will have to undergo massive evolution. Some of these sectors include:
- Car manufacturing
- Used cars
- Car insurance
- Car repair shops
- Trucking
Lastly, China is projected to have the most extensive market for driverless cars in the world in the next few years. The country is already allowing more companies to conduct test drives of these vehicles among its citizenry. As a result, more drivers will be capable of handling driverless cars correctly. The acceptance ratio of self-driving cars is likely to be higher in China than in any other country. Be ready to start seeing more self-driving cars around by 2020.
